Eventhough, we still do

You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can't, but also knowing that literature is indispensable to the world... The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way...

People look at reality, then you can change it.

Some more little matters...: Wanna learn English? Here go some tips...

Guys!
You see... I was in class today and suddenly I thought, why not?

Nowadays English is valued all around the world. You want to apply for a job and "Do you know English?". You wanna travel somewhere and "English?". Even at school: "Do you know English pitinglish?" (It's an Spanish joke, just in case :)

So, here we go. I'm posting some tips to improve your English (just in case your mother tongue is not English. If you're not English and you don't know Spanish here we go. If you are and are reading this after or before learning the post in Spanish... Good way of starting, lad! Keep on!)

-To work on counting with a back up-

1st Try to make it yours: I'm sure there's that very "something" you love doing. Reading, watching soaps, writing, listening to music, sports... What I'm proposing is that you keep on doing it... But in English. And start little by little!

2nd Every day: Spend some time every single day working on your English is the best you can do. If that thing you've thought about in the 1st Tip is one which you practice every single day... That's great! You just need to keep on doing it. For example, imagine you chose a TV series. You can look up one you might like which is native English and watch it every day before going to sleep. 45 minutes of English... Nice, ha? For example, you have "Downton Abbey". Very famous and the greatest TV series I've ever watched. And you take two for one! First of all, you learn English history: how the aristocrazy lived in this country in the XX century. Interesting, ha? And second of all... English, obviusly. The actors have incredible voices, very tuneful. But as the language itself, no?  :)

3th Don't give up hope: At first it's an effort and you might get sick of it, I'm sure of it and know it because it happened to me. Imagine watching "Pirates of the Caribbean" in English! Death! But there I was, a ten years old kid watching it. Or with the books, you might not understand all the single words but you can guess what they mean thanks to the context. Even talking to yourself in front of the mirror is of use. You can't find the appropriate word? Then explain what you meant to say by other means.
The only truth is that up to one point, one day you'll get to understand everything. It happens, it's just like... A click! One day you'll even find yourself thinking in English, I assure you.

And last but not least...

4th Learn to love it: If you're madly deeply crazy in love with something (for example, that's a way of learning English. That's the title and chorus of a song by One Direction :) you try to do your best.  This is subjective. I know you might or might not like the language. But, if you are lucky, you might find yourself with a facility not everybody counts with.

"THE ACADEMY "MIRIAM HUÁRRIZ" ASSURES YOU YOU'LL IMPROVE WITH THE PASS OF TIME AND DEDICATION. IF NOT, WE'RE NOT GIVIN' BACK YOUR TIME. THINK OF IT LIKE A WAY OF SPENDING YOUR LEISURE TIME (WHICH I'M SURE IS NOT MUCH, BECAUSE NOWADAYS...) EXPANDING YOUR CAPACITY TO UNDERSTAND A TEXT".

Just to give a humoristic touch to it ;)

And here I finish, I'm gonna go watch "Glee",  an American comedy which is very nice for learning English.

(Oh, men! How I love this...! It's my life :)

Good luck and cheer up with it!

Miriam
