English books: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

What's up, folks? I've been reading (as ever) and yesterday I managed to finish the very last book I had to read in English on the Harry Potter saga: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets".

That's right, I've read the Harry Potter books in English and in Spanish, all of them (and several times, too...)

The thing's that a friend of my brother's was "sleeping-over" yesterday and I nearly died, they kept on talking up to three and a half in the morning!! I didn't kill them because I was too sleepy to get out of bed, ;).

Well, but in the end I finished the book, letting myself wander through Hogwarts' corridors and feeling afraid of the Chamber of Secrets' monster.

In this second book on the saga Harry returns to Hogwarts, with the advise of a house elf named Dobby, who tells him not to return to the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Bad things are going to happen this year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry", Dobby tells Harry.

In spite of it the young wizard manages to return to school, and, as the house elf said, attacks start to happen. The Chamber of Secrets has been opened!

"La Imagen del Mes" Agosto del 2012

"Brave (Indomable)", ¡ya en cines!

¡Chic@s!

Hace un par de semanas estuve con mis amig@s viendo "Brave (Indomable)" en cines. ¡Una película muy recomendable para la infancia! :)

Trata sobre la vida de una princesa escocesa, llamada Mérida. Mérida vive en uno de los clanes en los que sus tierras se dividieron hace años y se tiene que casar con un príncipe de uno de los otros tres clanes para que la alianza de paz entre ellos siga vigente.

Sin embargo, Mérida quiere escapar de su destino.

En el bosque encuentra a una bruja, a la que le pide un hechizo para cambiar a su madre. Pero no todo sale como ella esperaba... ¿Qué sucederá?

Si la podéis encontrar en cines todavía id a verla, ¡y no os olvidéis de llevar a un niño pequeño!

La semana pasada escribí poco, una única entrada. Pero esa entrada cundió lo suyo, fue sobre un libro increíble.

Este libro en inglés de "Secrets of the Desert" por Christian Jacq, es la continuación del primer libro de la trilogía de"El Juez de Egipto".

En esta aventura, Pazair, se enfrentara a las sospechas de los conspiradores que intentan destronar a Ramses II y sufrirá sus ataques, de los que... ¿saldrá victorioso? ¿Conseguirá detenerlos?

English books: Secrets of the Desert

What's up, folks?

Hey, while being on holidays in Madrid I finished reading the sequel to "Beneath the Pyramid" from "The Judge of Egypt Trilogy" and I LOVED it.

Really, how can't you enjoy discovering how Judge Pazair makes his way through lies, plots, and crimes? It's thrilling, and I'm going to do my best to transmit this amazing experience of literature to you.

As you well know, Pazair is a judge in Ancient Egypt. He truly believes in justice and so he's the best judge known in the country. Because of his merits and his young age, the leaders decide to take him from his little town to Memphis, where he's about to be more important.

When he starts to work he discovers a plot to take control of Pharaoh and so he starts trying to stop it. The conspirators discover it and send him to a prison because of a crime he hasn't committed.

Until now the first book.

In this second one Pazair manages to scape the prison but finds himself surrounded by dangerous people. In spite of this, he continues trying to get the crime discovered and at the same time cover up his friend Suti, discover Branir's murderer and the murderers of the five guards on the Sphinx.

What will happen? Will he... die while trying?

Read it, you won't be disappointed.

Otra vez tarde, podéis matarme. :)

La semana pasada publiqué cuatro entradas.

La primera fue sobre un libro que dos chicas han escrito. Son de mi ciudad (Pamplona) y en verdad han creado un gran éxito. "El Mundo de Agartha" está dando de sí en las tiendas y por eso y porque a mí me ha gustado verdaderamente mucho os lo recomiendo, ¡y no os perdáis las secuelas!

Decir gracias a Mayka Baghdadi por publicar un enlace de mi blog (con la entrada) en la página de Facebook del libro, ¡me hizo mucha ilusión! Y por interesarse.

Y, tras ello, seguimos.

Después escribí otra entrada de "English books" de "THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS BOOK ONE, City of Bones".

Es una colección increíble, ¡no aguanto a que llegue el siguiente! La protagonista, Clary Fray, vive en Nueva York y tras que su madre resulte secuestrada, descubre que pertenece a un mundo de Cazadores de Sombras, los cuales luchan contra los demonios y demás fuerzas malignas. ¿Os lo vais a perder?

Y por último os publiqué dos entradas más sobre "Algunas cositas más" o "Some more little matters". Fue breve, para deciros que andaba por Madrid (capital española) y que ya subiría alguna foto.

English books: THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS BOOK ONE, City of Bones

Hey, what's up folks?

I've been reading (as ever) this amazing book lately and I just wanted to tell you about it. Wow, I'm getting brief concerning presentations... I didn't mean to, sorry. -.-

Well, lets see... "THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS BOOK ONE" City of Bones is a novel by Cassandra Clare, New York Times bestselling author.

Her books have received good praises and so my father bought the first one and I really did LOVE it, it was amazing.

This book talks about life in New York city, where Clary Fray lives. She's a fifteen year old girl, lives with her mum in an apartment and has a close relationship with his best friend Simon.

She is red haired, (pretty strange but remarkable for a character if you ask me) and not very sympathetic to people. And she loves to attend Pandemonium (a place where strange people meet and dance).

As the back cover reads: "Clary Fray is seeing things". One day in Pandemonium with her best friend she watches how four strange people go into a NON ADMITTANCE room.

They turned out to be a demon and shadow-hunters. But why is Clary able to see them? (And I mean to actually see them). Does she have something to do with them?

Find out, this book is magnificent.

"LIBROS" El mundo de AGARTHA

¡Chic@s! Hace cosa de- (... ¿un par de semanas tal vez?), la tía de una amiga mía me dejó un libro que le había gustado. En verdad era interesante y me lo terminé en poco tiempo, cosa de tres días. Y entre una cosa y otra no os había escrito sobre él así que aquí va.

"El mundo de AGARTHA" es un libro escrito por dos chicas, Rasha Mayka Baghdadi y Alejandra López.

Ambas dos son nacidas en Pamplona, capital de Navarra (mi ciudad). El caso es que han escrito este libro con 23 años, su primer libro.

Trata sobre la vida de una chica llamada Sarah Miller. Ella estudia filología inglesa con su mejor amiga, Alex. Juntas llevan una vida normal (olvidándose del hecho de que el padre de Sarah y su hermano desaparecieron hace años, en el mismo día).

El día en el que todo comienza es el aniversario de los cinco años de la desaparición del hermano de Sarah y se celebra una fiesta de jóvenes en su honor. Ese mismo día Sarah se encuentra un libro, que a pesar de parecer ser obra de Shakespeare, esconde información sobre agujeros de gusano y demás cosas sobrenaturales.

Sarah se intenta deshacer de él pero no puede, y en la fiesta de su hermano es transportada a otro mundo.

(Y llegan mis habituales preguntas), ¿qué le habrá pasado? ¿Tendrá algo que ver con el libro? ¿Y con la fecha de desaparición de su padre y de su hermano?

¡Chicos! No he traído los informativos en domingo, la pereza ha podido conmigo. La semana pasada únicamente os publiqué la entrada en inglés de los juegos olímpicos en "Kids news". Ya sabéis que la había escrito en castellano la semana anterior pero no encontré un rato en el que ponerme a escribirla de nuevo en la otra lengua. Espero que la disfrutarais.

Y ya han terminado las olimpiadas, veremos que tal han ido... :) Creo.

Kids news: Welcome to the Olympic Games. Welcome... to LONDON

Guys! Wow, incredible. Two Fridays ago we enjoyed the best Olympic Games inaugural ceremony, the one that started this fantastic games in London!

Okay, I must admit it. I'm a complete fanatic of the country and of the city but they were pretty, if you watched them you can't deny me that fact.

I write this post to inform you and because a part of the ceremony fits my needs perfectly, but we'll talk about that later.

This ceremony was centered entirely around the English countryside, in the one the actors represented London's evolution along the pass of the years. From the countryside to the city, the evolution inside the city. The evolution of this impressive capitol city.

The thing is they made the most emblematic factors of the English culture to stand out, from the music (with the Beatles and so on) and with the actuation of Paul McCartney, the last one of them, as final part; society (with films that talk about it such as "Billy Elliot" and an act by teenagers), it's literature (with genius from J.K. Rowling up to many others), its innovations (with the inventor of the Internet "the three w" "The World Wide Web" named Tim Berners-Lee.

Thanks to him we're here together along the whole world (:)...

Loads of things, impossible to name them all.

Participation of important people: actors, the Queen herself, David Beckam (the football player)... An emblematic act, no doubt.

I enjoyed it so much and the Olympic Torch, (I can't find the correct name) reached the climax of the ceremony. Without doubt really original and pretty, when it got lighted it achieved its greatest splendor.

I leave you photos of the stadium, the Olympic Torch and a video, which is what I wanted to tell you about.

The homage part to the English literature was, without a doubt, important; as they count with most of the important writers all around the world.

I leave you this part of the act, I hope you like it. And I post it because for me, among my "job", was a very important fragment, meaningful. :)

And as my own homage to the Olympic Games... Instead of doing the post in only one color I'm doing it in all the colors of the hoops that represent the Olympics. :) As they are united I don't separate the colors in each paragraph,  instead I unite them in the last words from the one before.

Informativos de mi blog XCVIII

¡Chic@s! Lo siento, de verdad. Pero ha sido una semana poco productiva (otra vez). El caso es que estoy muy liada con un tema mío, si tengo noticias seguras pronto os hablaré de él.

Bueno, a los informativos del blog.

La semana pasada os publiqué dos entradas: una sobre el libro en inglés de Sherlock Holmes (su segundo caso) "Death in the Air". Esta colección de libros es verdaderamente interesante y espero que la disfrutéis, a mi me encanta.

Después os publiqué otra entrada de "Noticias para niños" sobre la ceremonia de apertura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres del 2012. Fue preciosa y me curré la entrada pero ya no encontré fuerzas para escribirla de nuevo en inglés. Y hasta hoy. Espero publicarla pronto, (aunque voy a necesitar apoyo moral). ¡Ja, ja! Cuesta mucho escribir dos veces las entradas y ponerlas bonitas, ¡y más siendo tan grandes! Pero merece la pena, la recompensa de saber que te leen por todo el mundo es... incalculable.
